Abstract

In an experiment using films of two road environments, one in Drente and one in the Flevopolder in conditions of day- night and busy- quiet traffic, 64 subjects were asked to judge these environments with 16 constructs in a 6- point rating scale. This Road Environment Judgement Scale (in Dutch:BWO)was the result of three previous experiments. In the present experiment the findings of the previous experiments were replicated. Factor- analysis resulted in a three- factor solution, identical to the earlier results Therefore, the factors were again named "hedonic value", "activation" and "perceptual variability".
