Abstract

Effects of crash-phase injury countermeasures-safety belts, energy absorbing steering columns- and high penetration resistant windshields- on the fatality risk for passenger car occupants were studied derived from various sources. Countermeasures were reviewed. Results and analyses of the injury mechanisms were reconciled.
