Abstract

The analysis of dynamic congestion problems in urban areas often requires the use of trip matrices estimated for different consecutive time periods, typically 15-20 minutes. The paper describes an extension of an entropy maximising model to estimate trip matrices from traffic counts to cover this requirement. The new model was implemented and tested in combination with CONTRAM.
