Abstract

A traffic simulation model is formulated to estimate traffic congestion as well as travel time on urban expressway. It is applied to estimate the optimal congestion price on the peak-hour traffic. The Osaka-Sakai route of Hanshin Expressway is an objective route. The accuracy of the formulated model is enough to use for describing the dynamic change of traffic flow. Therefore, the practical congestion price can be estimated with the simulation model. It is known that the congestion pricing policy works effectively to reduce traffic congestions on the urban expressway. For the covering abstract see ITRD E114174.
