Abstract

A variety of consolidation test procedures are in current use, and the results of these tests are interpreted in several ways. To obtain meaningful settlement estimates, foundation engineers need to adopt a test procedure suitable for most soil laboratories having conventional consolidation equipment and a consistent manner for interpreting the data obtained from such test procedures. The objective of this report is to meet that need.
