Abstract

A traffic accident is a disturbing matter caused by a rise of the recent vehicle diffusion rate worldwide. Therefore, estimation of driver's actionunrelated driving may contribute to reduce traffic accidents. This paper proposes a novel method to estimation driver's action unrelated driving bymeasuring signals from air mass flow sensor on the seat belt. In the previous study tried to estimate of driver's action by measuring signals from pressure distribution sensors on the driving seat. However, the previous study is concerned about a large difference of accuracy rate when drivers reseat. Therefore, we focus on the seat belt since there is few change of wearing form by three stationary points. As a result, the accuracy rate when drivers reseat with our proposed method obtained over 90%. Consequently, proposal method is quite effective and useful to estimate driver's action.
