Abstract

The movement of cars is already described as a Markov chain and applied to the estimation of future trip distributions. In this paper, the person trip pattern will also be described as a Markov chain. If the distribution of various bases according to the land use plan, the number and purposes of the first trips, and the transition matrix for trip purposes are known, the person trip pattern will be determined. In the choice of mode of travel, it is assumed that the rate autos are used depends on the kind of base, purpose of the first trip, change of purposes, and characteristics of destinations.
