Abstract

Peripheral parking is one of the proposals currently being examined in Los Angeles in an effort to cater to the growth in automobile traffic destined for the CBD. Major emphasis has been on investigating whether peripheral parking can help to reduce the concentration of automobiles in the CBD and the amount of area devoted to parking. Major findings of the demand-forecasting work is described.
