Abstract

The results of the Daimler Benz ESV-05 which lead to the development of the ESV-13 are reported. The ESV-13 includes all safety features of the ESV-05 but is stylistically more acceptable. The improved ESV includes regenerative buffers and a reinforced body structure, exterior padding at possible pedestrian compact points, increased visibility, and improved airbag and passive seat belt restraint systems. Plans for future development of the ESV are outlined.
