Abstract
In this article a critical study of the breathalyser is carried out in order to investigate the value and reliability of this apparatus. The results of other methods used in France (a.o. blood samples) to determine the BAC are compared with the results of the breathalyser. The results of all different methods are presented by tables and graphs. The standard deviation is calculated. The advantages and disadvantages of the breathalyser are mentioned.
