Abstract

A first analysis is presented of the results of rolling noise measurements inside and outside a test vehicle, on 24 different surfacings (including sett paving, concrete, asphaltic concrete, conventional surface dressings and resin groups). On each site the levelling depth and coefficient of transverse friction were determined. The lack of correlation between the sound characteristics and the adhesion properties of a surfacing, is shown.
