Abstract

On the basis of a multi- criteria study, Belgium has classified her most important road projects into a hierarchy. All important projects which can be completed by the year 2000 have been included. 30 separate criteria have been specified, each of which allows simple and unambiguous project evaluation. The complexity of each criterion is condensed (quantification) by reducing it to a mensurable concept (parameterisation) on a pre- determined scale.
