Abstract

Experimental studies are made to know the loss of certain visual performances in outdoor lighting, following the type of the luminaires light distribution. This loss is compared to the one produced by dipped head-lights of cars coming in the opposite direction. This study relates to the recommended luminance levels. The importance of the dipped head-lights on discomfort, compared to the one of the luminairs, is shown off.
