Abstract

The HANNIBAL Project is an important Demonstration Project of the EU 4th Framework Transport Telematics Applications Research Programme which has led to improved better cross-border trans-alpine traffic management between France and Italy and improved information provision along a Trans-European motorway corridor. The major objective has been to create, develop, demonstrate and validate several advanced transport telematics applications in order to improve traffic management capabilities along the motorway corridor between Paris and Trieste. The purpose of this paper is to present the findings of a series of surveys of road users and traffic managers, which were completed in order to assess user and operator behaviour and perceptions.
