Eurotunnel will commence its cross-channel transport service in 1993. The system of specially designed shuttle trains, using the tunnels beneath the sea bed, will provide new opportunities for disabled people to travel between the continent and the U.K. The design has been developed with close consideration for the needs of disabled travellers. The emphasis has been to provide access to the service for disabled in the same way, as far as possible, as all other groups. This paper addresses the service that passengers will use and the specific arrangements that have been made for disabled.
