Abstract
Five different streets in Leuven were equipped with various types of speed humps. The results were studied and some conclusions drawn. Speed humps can serve: 1) the persuit of constant and low speeds; 2) the interruption of a possible building-up speed; 3) the symbolic image: this area is taken care of; 4) the protection of a limited zone; 5) the regulating effect on speeds of over 30 km/h.
