Abstract

Methodological problems in the design and implementation of evaluation research in terms of accident reduction are discussed. Various types of possible threat to validity are treated. An ideal research design cannot be used due to the practical restraints in this type of study. A pilot study is discussed in which accident registration on the basis of written responses is used. The minimal results are mainly due to the low response level and for this reason an alternative method to obtain accident data is developed.
