Abstract

Within the framework of the Dutch road safety policy plans from 1986 to 1991 every year a publicity campaign will be held . The purpose of these campaigns is to fight driving under influence. The evaluation of the campaigns is the subject of this research. The results show that the reported and the observed rates of driving under influence are huge. In addition to usual places like bars and discotheques also canteens near sporting grounds have been found to show considerable DUI-rates.
