Abstract

Over recent years the entropy maximising or maximum likelihood approach to trip distribution modelling has won a certain amount of favour in some circles and has been widely discussed in literature. This paper reports an attempt to use the full simultaneous Wilson-derived system and reports both theoretical problems with the formulation and practical computational difficulties with the solution of the model. A discussion is added.
