Abstract

An investigation has been carried out to study the local air quality and thermal comfort in a coach. The units of olf and decipol were used to evaluate air quality. With the air flow software PHOENICS, the distribution of air flow, temperature and contaminant concentration has been calculated in a coach under several positions of air inlets and outlets. The velocity, temperature and concentration fields were examined and compared. From these results, the best solutions were selected in order to find the most comfortable indoor climatewith respect to air quality and thermal comfort. (A).
