Abstract

Two new versions of the drive test were developed. The first was simply the present California drive test with elevated scoring weights (points lost). Parallel parking was substituted for the usual skill tests. The second test utilized drive test routes which took approximately twice as long to complete and involved far more driving in areas of high density traffic with multilane streets and traffic signals. The parallel parking skill test was also used in conjunction with this new drive test. See B 13730 for first volume of this study.
