Abstract

The need for and the importance of a scientific approach to the programming of highway safety improvements was established by this study. Obviously, highway improvements cannot eliminate all accidents, for many other factors are involved - policing, traffic court administration, driver licensing and other essential safety functions as well ad the un control liable nature of the individual driver.
