An evaluation of driver education as a road safety measure.

Abstract

Driving education courses were introduced into the curricula of 9 selected schools for students of 17 years of age. The course was intended to be one in driver and traffic education and education and consisted of classroom instruction relating to various aspects of the driving task, supplemented by instruction on a driving simulator and/or in a multi-vehicle, off street driving range, Some practical training on public highways was also included. Attempts were made to assess the effects of the course.
