Abstract

Prosecution records were studied for information on 823 intoxicated drivers. Some findings are: (1) the main evidential breath test alcohol level was 650 micro mol 1 /1 and the mean blood alcohol level, 166 mg /100ml, and (2) correlation between breath testing and blood sampling indicated that a breath test of 500 micro mol 1 /1 or more, in all cases had a blood alcohol level greater than 80mg / 100 ml.
