Abstract

In order to evaluate the applicability of mobile detected traffic data provided by a Floating Car Observer (FCO) in traffic management systems a simulation tool has been developed. The tool detects vehicles of oncoming traffic by using geometrical algorithms. There are several detection and simulation options implemented. Mobile obtained data must be transformed for the use of FCO data in traffic management systems. Regarding its plausibility a transformation algorithm has been developed and studied. After that an error analysis of the data transformation has been executed. This analysis leads to several conclusions how the FCO data can be used in traffic management systems.
