The present paper summarizes the work of the Evaluation Task Force on Driver Assistance and Cooperative Driving (DACD) Applications. Three types of applications are covered. These are: a) driver monitoring of driver performance and physical/psychological state; b) driver information; and c) co-operative driving. The work of the task force is to produce the guidelines against which the applications are to be evaluated, when trials of their performance are carried out. A brief overview of the major evaluation categories in the guidelines are provided.
