Abstract

Decisions regarding the implementation of safety improvements must be based on economic considerations of project cost and the gain to be had from a reduction of road accidents, at various levels of severity, as a consequence of such implementation. In order to achieve such a rational approach, a study was carried out on road safety improvements on the interurban road network in Israel. The study comprises three parts described in this paper.
