New developments in traffic congested central areas usually impose the need to re-examine the existing land use-transportation system, and to implement certain transport measures and policies. The Concert Hall which has been recently constructed in the city of Thessaloniki with a capacity of 1476 places is such a case. This new development is located in a residential area, not far away from the city center, which faces severe traffic and environmental associated problems. Within the framework of this paper the evaluation of the impact of this new development to the transportation system of the near area is presented together with the necessary traffic management measures in order to overcome traffic problems. Proposed measures cover both pedestrians and drivers while emphasis is put to the public transport system and to the parking demand and supply balance of the area after the construction of the new development.
