Abstract

The Association of Electronic Technology for Automobile Traffic and Driving (JSK) developed the ITS onboard physical architecture and the evaluation technique for it at the same time. The system architecture is expressed abstractly, so its evaluation is difficult. However, the JSK found that the flexibility and the functional extensibility of the system architecture can be evaluated and examination for standardization can be facilitated by introducing the concept of "development package (hereafter referred to as "DP")" and concretely describing DPs at the outline design level. For those who are planning to deploy the ITS service using the ITS system architecture, DPs concretely described at the outline design level also offer the secondary effect of contributing to understanding of the physical architecture. The evaluation method is described with the introduction of the DP concept and the effectiveness of introduction of DPs which is verified through concrete application examples. (A*)
