Abstract

In the fall of 1978, experimental louvre type glare screens were installed on two (2) safety improvement projects in Region 3, Onondaga County. One thousand forty six (1,046) units were installed on the two projects, some on concrete median barrier and some on corrugated beam type barrier. The screen consists of individual plastic louvres, or baffles, approximately 36 in high, mounted vertically on guiderail or median barrier. When placed on 2-ft centers, they form a continuous barrier.
