Abstract

The present study was undertaken to evaluate the effectiveness of legislation by the North Caroline General Assembly in 1969 to deal with the traffic habitual offender. In summary, there was no evidence found that the habitual offender cases processed through the court system show better subsequent driving performance as indicated by convictions and crashes reported on the driving record than habitual offenders not processed through the court system.
