Abstract

Pedestrian traffic is more difficult to fit in a clear and simple pattern than wheeled traffic. Measures for preventing or reducing the number of conflicts between vehicles and pedestrian traffic have taken the shape of pedestrian crossings. Measures for zebra crossing, light controlled crossings, pedestrian bridges and subways are considered.
