Abstract

This paper presents a field evaluation of the effectiveness of the PAVUE automated pavement distress data collection and analysis system, at the trials sponsored by the FHWA and Texas DOT in Austin, Texas, in November 1993. In the evaluation of the PAVUE system in Texas, the PAVUE data collection vehicle surveyed 180 km of pavement, both asphalt and concrete (CRC). A total of 4 asphalt and 3 concrete sections were surveyed, each section surveyed twice to test repeatability, at three different times of the day, to evaluate lighting effectiveness. (A)
