This report provides the detailed results of the first phase of an on-going study of the IAM advanced driving preparation; the objectives are to: * Examine the impact of the IAM advanced driver test preparation on driver safety and attitudes to safe driving; * Identify impacts that could be used by IAM to promote wider participation in IAM driver training; * Identify whether there are differences in the impacts between drivers: men and women, drivers in different age groups, and those who drive high and low mileage; and * Identify in broad terms whether or not the impacts are long-lasting. Information was collected from IAM members via an on-line survey. In total 2,455 complete and valid survey forms were received. Follow-up group discussions with some of these respondents were conducted so that some of the survey findings could be explored in more depth.
