Abstract

Manitoba's first coordinated enforcement program conducted to increase occupant restraint use which was successful in increasing usage by approximately 20% in the short- term, without any direct allocation of funds, is reviewed. However, to achieve and sustain use rates of 80% or higher, Selective Traffic Enforcement Programs should be conducted at least twice a year.
