Abstract

The Advanced cruise-assist Highway System is a system which aims to realize safer road traffic by establishing coordinated movements between the highly digitized infrastructure (Smartway) and vehicles (Smartcar). In order to promote the research and development of the same efficiently, it is critically important to implement appropriate evaluation by establishing an evaluation system with respective phases of research and development including a needs analysis phase, system development phase, verification experiment phase, etc. taken into consideration. Implementation of appropriate evaluation will make it possible to feed back the results to respective research functions to eliminate repetitious efforts in the project and to shorten the time for development eventually.
