Abstract

The traffic conflicts technique, as developed by General Motors Research Laboratories, was evaluated by the Federal Highway Administration in cooperation with the state highway departments of Washington, Ohio, and Virginia. An attempt was made to find whether there is a statistical relation between traffic accidents and traffic conflicts.
