Evaluation of traffic operations, safety, and positive guidance projects.

Abstract

The Human Factors Branch of the Office of Traffic Operations, Federal Highway Administration, has developed an evaluation procedure and handbook for use by federal, state, and local engineers and technicians. The procedure is designed to enable personnel who may not be familiar wiht experimantal design and statistical methods to evaluate projects and determine whether improvements are effective. A brochure has been prepard to inform interested individuals and agencies of the procedure, describe its major elements, and tell how the full document can be obtained.
