Abstract
Random Breath Testing (RBT) commenced in New South Wales in December 1982 has been demonstrated to have been highly successful in reducing crashes. Uncles guidelines followed by the police for the conduct of RBT, the testing has been conducted at Police vehicles stationed at the side of the road. A limited trial of mobile- mode RBT was commenced in August 1987. Crash data and apprehension of the three months of the trial are presented.
