Abstract

Two breath alcohol instruments are described. I. The Alco-Tector, which is an instrument that collects a uniform volume of alveolar breath for alcohol analysis. Using a photometric system, it measures the chemical reaction of alcohol in breath bubbled through potassium dichromate and sulfuric aciel. II. The Alco Analyzer is an instrument that collects a measured volume of alveolar breath and determines ethanol concentration in the blood based upon the breath. This is done by gas chromatography.
