Abstract

An attempt to ease the traffic congestion around the headquarters of Toyota Motor Corporation is described. Since 2002, traffic congestion factors have been analysed by using traffic simulation around the headquarters. Based on the analysis, Toyota Motor Corporation has conducted TDM (transportation demand management) programs. In addition, in collaboration with Toyota City and local communities, the TDM field test was conducted in 2004. In addition, related governments executed several road improvements in 2005. The results were evaluated, confirming the validity of the countermeasures for easing the traffic congestion. For the covering abstract see ITRD E134653.
