Abstract

This report concerns the application of aerial photography to obtain discrete trajectories of vehicles traversing sections of freeway, and the subsequent analysis of these trajectories so as to disclose the quantitative characteristics of weaving and diverging patterns of vehicles in the vicinity of the ramp. The objective of this study was to develop curves and charts which would allow the highway engineers to use the research in the design process.
