Abstract

An outline is presented of present day experience and current practice in the design of urban divided roads, with the exception of motorways. A classification is made in roads with and without one or two separate service roads. Diagrams are given of cross-sections and lay-outs, depending upon capacity, parking requirements and area type. Special attention is given to designs and dimensions of intersections and junctions.
