Abstract

This report gives the results of the inspections and measurement that have been made, over the first four years, of experimental surfacings. 1. The main factor determining the resistance to skidding of the road was the polished-stone value of the stone in the surface. 2. Resistance to skidding at 50 mile/h was relatively lower than at 30 mile/h for surfacings having a small texture depth.
