Abstract

This report describes the findings of a study to develop an experimental design and benefits attributable to the use of a new railroad grade crossing advance warning sign. This research effort points out the difficulties which would be experienced in using accident reduction as a measure of effectiveness for evaluating any railroad grade crossing safety improvement.
