Abstract

The present investigation was designed to provide a preliminary evaluation of two advanced restraint concepts which are being developed for possible future automotive use, but which lacked biomechanical evaluation: the yoke harness with inertia-locking reel and the air back restraint system. Thirteen impact tests were performed using eleven adult female Savannah baboons.
