Experimental isolation of the driver's visual input.

Abstract

An understanding of the driver's visual input provides a rational basis for many aspects of highway design. Here is used an apparatus to isolate only the visual reactions of a driver. Some results in particular about the fixation on road edges and centerline which are the two most important fixation factors included.
