Abstract

An experimental program to measure a type of windshield wear that may contribute to nighttime traffic accidents has as the key element an innovative instrument designed to provide a quantitative measurement of a phenomenon known as windshield "hazing". Hazing results from the small crashes created by salt, sand and pebbles as they strike the windshield.
