Abstract

This paper describes two major problems which occur during the development of the AMF Experimental Safety Vehicle. The problems involves limitation of the passenger compartment intrusion during side impacts, and dissipation of the vehicle kinetic energy during high-velocity front and rear impacts. The solutions for both problems are briefly discussed.
