Abstract

In the VAL transport system in the city of Lille the vehicle is equipped with sliding doors. Under normal working conditions the axes of vehicle and station the doors coincide. However, an offset of 30 centimetre maximum between the vehicle and platform doors may by tolerated. In other cases the arm of a passenger may be injured. Further research for such systems is therefore stressed.
